Anyone active in Kent?

Post by Whitstable »

I was on CB in a the 80’s, my entire life revolved around it, but it died out by the early 90’s.
Popped back on in about 2003, Superstar 3900F, imax 2000 (I think?) and even a Silver Eagle …. it was dead as a doornail.

Been playing with some Baofeng types lately and it’s made me wonder if it’s worth buying stuff again, some of the YouTubers from other parts of the country give me the impression that it’s picked up from when I last looked, but they aren’t from this neck of the woods. (Canterbury/Faversham/Thanet)

Anyone on here local?

Tempted to buy a Thunderpole TX, T2LT or something, and heading for high ground to dip my toe.

Cheers

There's a CB net and a PMR net once a week chaired down at East Sussex.

Kate is in Canterbury and I've heard her here up North whilst mobile,
the lad I was talking to had a QSO with her.

It can depend on time of day etc when people are on.
If you're into long distance dx'ing then now is a good time.
