I had a couple of Alinco DR-135's which suffered display issues. One lost the backlighting on the knobs the other lost one of the colours on the display.
As this radio has a board made by the same company there is obviously something wrong with how they are doing the displays, and has been for quite a while.

'We'll fix ix it in the next patch' seems to be the norm now. Quality Control seems to be an afterthought.

Looks like the customers are doing the quality control checks yet again!

They don't make things as good as they once did or last like they used to - true.

I come from a music production background and it is incredibly common now for 'professional' hardware products to be released in what can only be described as 'half finished beta units'
6 months in the field seems to be normal, then a firmware update to get the product up to it's initial advertised spec.

First second hand George 2 I've seen on ebay. Will be interesting to see what it fetches.

I wonder why it's for sale. Not living up to expectations?
For £245 it would be tempting to just pay the extra bit for a new one.

I would think it will increase a bit more than the £245.
I got mine for £300 so to me this is bad value

It could have been messed up with the service menu.

£320, plus postage. You would need to be an utter berk to pay the same for that as a new one from a shop.

Agreed. Plus from a shop you'll have piece of mind and a full valid warranty.
A fool and his money and all that...

We seem to have an element of stupidity regards money/value in the radio community a lately, maybe the last few years have something to do with it.
