Thanks Edd. Think I need one of these. Its a plastic piece that in it , and that's broken. I need to unsolder the head first. I'll post back when I have an update.

Well. I don't think it'll hold it , but I'll try some glue first. I'm not sure if that complete black plastic section screws in to the metal neck. If it does, then I might be able to do something with metal bits and pieces to create a new thread. It's not a great design. There's a lot of pressure at that point when you try and adjust the neck position. To be honest I don't think the glue will be strong enough to hold it. It might be ok as long as you never move the neck again:) Anyway. There's no harm in trying. If it breaks again then I'll try and come up with another idea.

Cheers Simon. I'll make a note of that. It's about £13 here on Amazon. I'll leave this to dry anyway till tomorrow. I'd still love to find out if that piece screws into the neck. If it does, then I could remove it and use one of those metal threads with a nut on each side to hold it.

Any good with the glue mate?

You could try reinforcing the plastic with a piece of thin-walled steel pipe up inside it (after unsoldering the wires and slipping it up over the cable), if there's enough room for something to fit in there that is?

Oops . Sorry Dave . Forgot to post a reply here yesterday . I found a guy locally who makes the part using a 3D printer , so I bought 2 off him . Just for future reference . The end that goes into the neck of the mic DOES screw in .

And just to add . The "monkey" glue actually held really well . It even allowed me to grab the piece with pliers and twist it in order to unscrew it from the the neck .

It would be easy to make from metal if you knew someone with a lathe?

I'm an expert on these now :) So here's the thing . The 3D printer version is exactly the same . However . There is a small issue . Behind this part there is a small (strong) spring that gets tensioned when this part is screwed in . If it doesn't get "tensioned" then you don't get that resistance when you move the neck back and forward . The original part is made of pretty sturdy plastic . The 3D printer version is made of whatever they use to make these . Is it nylon ?

Anyway . When I screwed mine in it wouldn't go all the way in . It doesn't have the same "strength" as the original part . So once it reached the spring it started eating the thread a bit with about 1mm to go . To be honest it's no big deal . It's still in there tight . Once it's all reassembled you can't even notice it , and I've now got the neck working perfectly .

A metal one would definitely be better .
