Just a curiosity question, as Google has not been my friend over this.
Back in the early to mid 80's a friend returned from a trip to the the Med with a couple of CB transverters & mobile antennas for the 6.6mhz freeband.
I swapped a transmitter for one & these transverters & ran it for a few months, or weeks, before swapping it for something else. I believe it was Italian, partly because like most Italian CB kit, it was built badly. But beyond that I cannot remember much about it.
Does anyone else remember these & anything about them? I assume with todays easy & cheap access to amateur radio equipment by everybody that such kit is no longer made? As back then Amateur kit was far from easy to access unless you were a radio amateur, or knew someone who was & when you could access it, it was always pricy, even secondhand.

That was it. It worked, but it felt like it was typically Italian, cheaply made.

Thanks both. I had a play with one of these for a few weeks, was unimpressed & passed it on. And I seem to remember paying slightly more than £105 (120 Euro) for mine.

Is 45mtrs still used nowadays ? Appreciate if it is there won’t be many users willing to take the chance in using this band as I know many years ago even here in the U.K. they were clamping down big style in its use . Was always favoured by Dutch, French and Italian users wasn’t it !!
U.K. users even ventured to 86 ( 3.4mhz ) and 23mtrs ( 13.9mhz ) if conditions weren’t good on 45 !!

Okay thanks will have a listen down . Yep the cute tr45 was the original source to the band for a lot of folk and if you had money you had an ft101zd with the crystals for 40 mtrs changed to 45mtrs or even the FT707 and then a few years later the Ft757GX..memories eh !
Must admitt never had the courage to tx down there as a young lad all those years ago but did find it fascinating to listen into !!
