I installed a channel kit in my cobra 29xlr.
The Am radios with the 858 dont broadband too well for power.
I installed a kit with regular 40 and 40 below channel 1 so from 27.405 down to 26.515.
The radio is quite hard to get decent power from top to bottom.
I have a channel kit in my Cobra 29GTL and had both up and down channels and the GTL and LTD tune great for power.
So has anyone broadbanded the power and VCO to get decent power.
I know the upd858pll ssb radios tune well as 1 can can be modded to broadband to tune for good power when adding channels.
I know these XLRs are older radios but just having fun. The kit is an Expo 100 I kit I added.
thanks
