Passed my full ham exam last week ...

Post by Mitch »

... And got my new call sign today. :D

I did the Bath Based Distance Learning course via Zoom last year from August to Xmas and took my exam last week using TestReach online and passed. There's a lot of new stuff I had to learn and a lot of new stuff I'll never understand, but I scraped by, lol.

The bonus part is I got my perfect call sign but had to ask for it, though it was worth the £20. A few phone calls and emails to Ofcom later and I managed to get M1TCH so I'm well chuffed (plus I've had a beer or two).

G'night all

Well done! The Bath courses are probably the best there is, will keep an ear out for your call if we're in air distance.

Just passed mine today also, need to wait a bit longer for the callsign! I found the exam a worthy challenge, so glad it's over.

I've still got mine, and a calculator I'm unlikely to use again, I never got on with it anyway, I found it easier to work things out with a simple calculator and pen and paper.

Passing the first exam is the starting point.
You need the course books & many more to continue learning.

Not really. I know enough to responsibly and safely operate my station and enjoy the hobby in the way I intend to.
