what is the best dx antenna on 10m
i cannot use a beam as impracticable and small space so in your experiences as a ham what is the best antenna to get the biggest amount of dx contacts
fast when the cycle becomes the peak thanks i want to get the most performance of contacts in the logan book.
not the second best one only the best one

If you can't have beam, any CB vertical tune to 10m will work.
I suggest aluminium antenna with radials. Sirio 2016 for example.

Re: what is the best dx antenna on 10m
thx buddy will it gain more than 1/2 style version even if I can it get more high, radilas messy i want it powerful so i will make all the dx
on islands.. will any vertical be anywhere near a beam power.. i like the process of if I hear I can work, that is the antenna i would like
I can spend money no problems but beam is messy thx

So you want your coax, mast, gutter and anything metallic to be a radial. Groovy
Why bother asking than?

Re: what is the best dx antenna on 10m
thx for the replies i think many have success also with 1/2 style and also 58 style.. so I ask if I can make higher th 1.2 is it in the end better than 58... I will also consider 1/4 but this one is also radials.. as long as the radiation from the coax is good and making the dx better I will be happy.is anys hams on the planet using 1/4 on the ground for 10m as dx power system ? radial become hard on 1/4 wave on poles ok for earth based
great debate

Radiaton from coax never is good. 1/4 on the ground needs at least 32 buried or laying on the ground radials, while over the ground 4 is enough.

Re: what is the best dx antenna on 10m
thx ch25 you make time for my replies...and is the longer one always better one ? i heard something about radiation on 58 is also wrong somewhere part of angle is not same on element.. something like this.. does this make it worse than 1/2. maybe also 58 radiate coax. problem with 1/4 is it look small and low for the length of waves 10meters only... like a vhf and if on ground for the 10meters maybe it only gets blocked everywhere and doe not get well to the sky.
I really want to get the best dx one...

gainmaster
maxi2000
Antron
or can I make more gain with only wire made with small couple box, which have less loss and more power in sky ? thx
Did any ham ever use 10m band 1/4 wave on ground as highest performance dx antenna for the world ?
i am very interested in antenna

Re: what is the best dx antenna on 10m
10m antennas are small, so I doubt anyone would put it on ground level considering ground loss it would have.
Antenna mount height make a big difference for elevation angle and that is main aspect you should worry about.
Antenna placed on wrong height is NVIS and useless for DX.
From antennas you listed I would go for 2016. My 2016 is on the roof since early 90's and performing as good as back in a day it was mounted.
Imax and antron are poor performing antennas.

Re: what is the best dx antenna on 10m
thx for the recommending 2016 for the 10m band it seems to be one of the best there.
still interested did anyone use 1/4 for dx on 10m as a good antenna or not used because it is weak and small like vhf into the ground not sky

You won't hear difference between 1/4 and 5/8 on DX.

Re: what is the best dx antenna on 10m
i saw some different result, some with lower for the 58, your also a little lower not much i guess it depend how high. I did not hear many to use
1/4 on 10 especially on the earth direct or even cb, most like 58 maybe they think the longer is better still, confusing but you diagrams show good for both anyway
here they have 3

1/4 on ground mounted is good for making warm for worm 10m must be very bad antenna 1/4 ground
