Echo - President Richard

Post by Maverick00 »

Hi, No matter what configuration, I'm getting bad reports on the echo on President Richard.

Delay 1-32 (32 is default)
Time 1-32 (32 is default)

How would you set the delay and time?

ECHO SET
Press the PUSH knob (6) for 3 seconds to enter MENU. appears.
1. Turn the rotary PUSH knob (6) or use the UP/DN buttons (18) on the microphone to select the ECHO function.
2. Press the PUSH knob (6). Dy and the delay value blink on the display.
3. Turn the rotary PUSH knob (6) or use the UP/DN buttons (18) on the microphone to set the delay value from 1 to 32 (default value is 32).
4. New press on the PUSH knob (6) to validate. The delay stops flashing. TI and
the value of the second parameter, time, blink on the display.
5. Turn the rotary PUSH knob (6) or use the UP/DN buttons (18) on the microphone to set the time value from 1 to 32 (default value is 32).
6. New press on the PUSH knob (6) to validate. The time stops flashing. a) Go
back to point 1 to adjust another function or b) Press the PTT switch (17) to
validate and exit MENU. disappears.
7. If no key is pressed, the unit exits MENU after 10 seconds, disappears on
the display

I've got mine set at 1,1
It just gives a little extra punch without the stupid echo effects.
Start low and work up until you find what you like.

If it's bad, why to use it anyway?

Just turn it off. More people will talk to you.

Because I'm trying to find the best configuration of delay and time, and given that there are 32 delay and 32 time combinations, that's quite a lot of possibles. And I'm interested in finding the best configuration setting for the echo feature - for all I know, it could improve what I think is flatness of the stock microphone

If you like echo so much, why not to use it in your speaker patch?
I see it kinda lame I do not talk or respond to people with such a crap on their audio.
If you want to get rid of flatness, some heavy modding inside radio is needed.

Thanks for the unsolicited views. But I was actually just enquiring about the best echo configuration(s) for the aforementioned radio.

If that is "off", you're right.

I have delay set to 6 and time set to 4. Sounds excellent. Imagine if Motorhead didn't usr guitar effects pedals, their sound would likely be dull and flat.

Think the guy's asking a legitimate question here .

He's not asking "I have an echo option here on my RICHARD . Should I use it ? "

Anyway Maverick . Glad to see you got it the way you wanted it .

I might be in the minority here but i quite like an echo. Loved the sound of the old ES-880 Chambers. I might be in the minority here but i quite like an echo. To be honest I liked the old ES-880 as well. I only ever used it on the minimum setting , but it sounded pretty good
