Maas SPS 250A Power Supply Faulty

Post by ChubbyChops »

My Maas SPS 250A has failed.
It still turns on but only reads 2v on the meter.
The meter lights no longer light up and the fan doesn't run.
Any ideas where to start please?

I'd personally start by putting it in the bin if it were mine ;) I'm useless with electronics.

There's someone on here that's good with power supplies, always messing with designs etc and they were mentioned not long ago as they hadn't been on for a little while. It might have been on a recent power supply issue thread.
Once someone puts their name forward, you can try PM'ing them :)

Otherwise, I'm sure someone will help out with a few suggestions shortly.

As I've not been about for a long time I only just seen your thread. Faulty switch mode power supplies are beyond the average home hobbyists. You need multiple multimeters and a scope to fault find the power supply. Sorry I can't be of more help.

No worries Dave, thanks anyway.
There were no pops, bangs, explosions or smoke so I'm sure it's something simple, but for now it's in the box awaiting someone to look at it for me.
