Had this radio a while and can't work out if it's faulty or just hasn't got any light or illumination of the buttons on front panel of not.

Screen is bright but nothing else is iluminated.
Normal or fault please.

Sounds like a fault.

It is a common issue, I have had 3 of these radios and two of them had display issues. One of them had to go back as it was less than a week old.

My last one would only display 3 out of the 7 colours. One set of LED's had failed. It was actually a CRE-8900 but they are the same radio...

I Had a brand new anytone 555 think the night illumination lasted 10 mins

Reliability was never their strong point.

Thanks all, so I take it that the white writing is in some way translucent and is light from some kind of led disbursement behind the front bezel.

I had to wonder if it was just reliant on light being luminous like watch faces.

Mine certainly doesn't light up lettering around any dials controls buttons like that one imaged

Just to confirm can this feature nightime illumination be turned off and on.Can't find anything in menu just checking in case I missed it misread instruction booklet

There is meant to be back lit illumination, it was that that stopped working on my first DR135 which I bought new not long after they came out.

I don't think it can be turned on or off, but the main display can be.
