Digital Coastguard out of the marine band

Post by paulears »

Made an interesting discovery today, when experimenting with a new radio. Most people are aware that the Coastguard do a number of safety and information broadcasts on the Marine band - they call out on ch 16 and direct listeners to a channel up in the 60's where they give local weather, information on obstructions or red/green lights out of action - that kind of thing. This information is re-linked out in the VHF business band out to sea for vessels working on the wind farms.
