A uk distributor as I think they’d sell well
The website doesn't seem to indicate that they sell direct to the public. It's asking me for a zip code to show me a list of retailers. Did you just email them Edd ?

Shawn owed me a favour lol

They are cagey about them as they are not officially released to shops yet
So I doubt he will supply any at the moment.
And there isn’t a uk distribution network yet no idea if there
Even will be.

I’m trying to secure a larger shipment from him but nothing decided yet

Fair enough . It's not something that interests me . I was just looking to see what the price was .

Cheers

No idea on retail price. The uk dealers if they get them
Will mark them up by a lot.

For the record it’s probably the best Cb style rig I’ve had on the bench so far.

Just bought a bundle of stuff on ebay. I'd have got a silver rod type aerial too had I been able to collect, but it's miles away.
Anyway, for £48 posted I've got coming:

1x cb radio with mic ( just a Team 2-way thing)

1x Euro CB 150/200w amp (probably ssb rating)

3x mic clips (new)

1x swr meter (new) boxed

1x dummy load (new) 20watt boxed

1x vehicle fixed bolt on antenna body mount (new) - DV type thing in a bag

1x mini mag mount- with 4ft DV27 black aerial

1x sirio mag mount 7ft - looks like a Sirio 3/4000 type

1x midland-alan 42ds 40 channel handheld with a leather case

a selection of antennas/ aerials ( a couple of ubber duck things) & 50ohm patch leads, cable plugs, load of cable, etc…

4x walkie-talkies with chargers etc - 2 are pmr, other 2 look a bit more professional.

It'll be interesting to see how that lot arrives for just £8 postage including the 6ft 6" long Sirio!

You've done mighty well there Mr C. Hope it all arrives.

I would be interested in the leather case for the midland if it was available that is

It's actually not an Alan 42ds, but a Radioshack model, possibly a TRC1013/14 or something like that. I forgot to add a comment about it to the list, but I sold a 1013 and it fetched £50 a couple of years ago. Mad!

I just had a scan over the case and it's not one made for the Radioshack or Midland types, so don't get too excited Dave ;)

It looks more like a DNT's case with the channel selector knob on the side

..weird double-post.

I thought I might make a few quid on the stuff over the coming months.

There's an identical amp currently selling at £41 plus postage on ebay.

I am more after a case for the midland. Your radio is either a shack trc 1014 40 channel or the 80 channel TRC 1015 version.
I am not sure if your case is for the don't or not unless you have the same radio and case.

But thanks anyway

1014..That's probably the one I had, not even sure they did a 13..can't remember. From memory, Midland bought the rights to it, changed a few things and called it the Midland 42.

I have a 40ch DNT HF-13/40 on the shelves, so I'll slip it into that to see if it fits when it all arrives (either tomorrow or Friday). If the DNT box I have for it doesn't contain a leatherette case, then thats a bonus!

Well the 1014 seems to work, just need to chat to my Midland 42 on it to check when I'm next up in the loftshack. I might do the 80ch conversion (solder blob trick) but, I might not for collectibility reasons. Maycom also did their updated version of these too, the AH27's, I forgot, just before Midland did IIRC.

The 2 Motorola XTN446 pmr radios work, one aerial needs tlc. Come with one charger that works. RRP was £180 each on these things years back!
The 2 smaller Motorola pmr's work too and have a twin-charger.

The Sirio 3000/4000 aerial needs the whip straightening as it was coiled up inside the box.

The bad news is there was no DV27, just the small magnet from underneath it. No doubt they realised that it couldn't be coiled up in the box. It didn't say it wasn't included if posted, so I've mentioned that in a message. I could have got £10-£15 just for that!

I haven't tested the Team 2-way CB radio or the Euro CB 150w amp yet either, but so far, everything tested seems to work okay. Fingers crossed ;)

Well the 1014 speaker sounds a bit scratchy, so it either needs a new one or the receive is just a touch off. The white noise of UKFM doesn't sound quite right to my ears. Otherwise, all good.

I've straightened up the Sirio 4000 Megawatt aerial as it was kinked and had been coiled tightly to fit in the box too. It took me 15 mins but it's nice and straight now. At 2050mm long, it's a big bugger!

The Team 2-way CB radio works okay with just the mic' plug/cable joint being a bit dodgy. The 150watt Euro CB amp seems to work fine too from what I can tell. The relay clicks, it draws 15amps on TX and it makes the signal on my handheld go right up to the end.

I've glued the broken aerial on one of the big pmr radios with ultra-violet activated glue, so that's 99% sorted too. Everything in the box works, just a shame about the "missing" DV27.

There was a radio shack TRC 1012 but that was a totally different radio

Yeah, the '12 was Eurosonic 200-sized from memory (wasn't it AM too???). Perhaps they were superstitious and didnt do a '13?

Well the glue I used on the pmr handheld didnt work, it obviously didn't like that kind of rubbery plastic, so I've used a rubber-based glue on it now. It's a good job I've got lots of different types of glue to hand. Fingers crossed.
