Does anyone remember the Lancaster? Nice looking set, a bit like a modernised Stalker ST9 F-DX. Not nice at all :!:
Murphy homebase, always with that annoying buzz. Atrocious :!:
Sonic, need I say more. Well OK then, absolute crap :!:

One big slightly variable channel, I could hear people calling on the 19 on channel 31,
except they had bigger signal readings on 31 than they did on the 19 !!!

Jaws MK2 AM set, it got bleedover from the gnats farting in the garden...

Fidelity CB1000, don't get me started.
Mmmm! Never had much problems with my Jaws Mk2 , was a basic hardy little rig , I've still got it around shack !

Well, in '79 I lived in a place that had 12 breakers within 200 yards and about 100 within a mile or so.
The Cobra 19GTL stood up to it pretty well, my mates Commtron was not so good, but the Jaws went completely dead on ch1 if somebody keyed up on ch40.
Hopeless.
Just loved the fairy lights and the size, but for the BEST fairy lights radio you couldn't beat a Viking Johnson,
lovely.

Because the people who buy them are STOOPID. Shill bids aplenty and gullible fools equals silly money. There was a time when you could rely on eBay to find a bargain, now it's just full of greedy idiots. They either begin with a stupid reserve or bids begin at begin at price, or the seller shill bids to high hell. It's a disgrace.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

the best of uk fm rigs can only as good as the last person that was inside it with the screwdriver or nail file turning the pots to make them better (opps to see what that one does) but then you can get a really bad rig give it to some one that knows what they are doing and they make it great so lets say there is good and bad in every rig out there i always end up with the bad ones and then have to try to get them sorted out

A lot of what ScottishTommy says is right... but there are a few radios which even the greatest rig doctor cannot cure. My pet hate is the Fidelity 1000 - but there are others that I really loath, not because they're bad, just crappy - The Maycom EM27 is one. Fundamentally it's okay... it just sounds screetchy and is prone to so many glitches! Getting over the leaky battery syndrome of the earlier model, there's the self-keying malarky in cold weather, and the unreadable LCD in bright light. Yuk... I 'ate em with a vengeance ! ;)
EXTREMELY WEIRD... AVOID AT ALL COSTS !
