HAM things to do in London (north-east)?

Post by 26mb04 »

Next week I'll be working in London (Walthamstow area) for a few days. I expect to have quite a bit of free time, and I'll have some (mainly UHF) gear with me. Are there any popular repeaters, nets etc? I'll have DMR, although I'm not registered so I'll be simplex only unless there are any simplex repeaters which don't require registration. I'll also have PMR446.

I know this is a late reply but could be used for future reference.

GB3OY is an excellent repeater and you'll have no problems getting into it from there. You also have GB3HW but not much activity on that repeater lately. You may be able to reach GB3HR and some other repeaters but GB3OY is your best bet.

Try 70cms simplex if you can get to high ground.

GB7NS is generally Londons Local DMR repeater or GB7LO.
