Hi All

Is there a good source of study material relating to the Foundation License, I have been on the usual Amateur websites and downlaoded/attempted the practice exams etc, I'm looking specifically for more detailed information relating to arials and the formula's required to calculate lengths/freq use etc..... does that make sense?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a bit vague to ask for “formula required” it all depends on the antenna, feeder, materials etc etc etc

I thought the "formula requierd" would be vague, I just noted that on every practice/Moc exam that I have seen there have been some questions relating to Dipoles and other such arials and wondered if there was somekind of formula regarding working this kind of thing out.

I'm fine when it comes to the most other areas/topics of the exam but I always seem to fail the above type of questions.

I've not planned a date yet for the exam, I want to be Aceing the prep tests before I book it in.

Sufficient for exam: L = 468/f that’s the half wavelength in feet

ie L= 468/27.555
Therefore L= 16.98....... in feet

Don’t recall what is needed in the foundation but it won’t include VF or go beyond a half wave length I’m sure
