Yep, keep a look out for a Mifland Portapack one as they're the same size and mount I believe. You can also get an original but optional rubber duck for them, but distance will obviously be reduced.mrpsychopath wrote: ↑05 Oct 2020, 08:06 Bought last week, a ham international select, serviced by Saint Nick. Nice little radio. Just need to find an antenna for it to use it as a portable.

I know, they sold for £30-£40 a couple of years back, maybe £60 in the box in good nick. All of a sudden they were fetching £100+. Crrraaazzzy!
I sold my rubber duck for one a couple of years back and thought I saw one recently on ebay, but not described as being for a Portapack though. If I see it again, I'll have a closer look, but the telescopic one will get you at least 2 or 3 times as far to be honest.
Edit-
Found it straight away but looking at it, it's not a Portapack one as it's too short and hasn't got the threaded end on it. Looks-wise it's almost identical though

Did anyone from on here buy the Midland AM/SSB Homebase that was on ebay? I was going to mention it was up for sale on here for people but it went shortly after I saw it.
Had it been £95 posted rather than £195 posted, I might've even bought it myself.

I was dead keen on bidding on that, but someone must have put a good offer in ...

No, that's the UKFM 76-900 version, this was the 40ch 76-999? AM/SSB one. £175 buy it now price and £20 postage. Nice radios but I'd never pay that. A lot of others would though, hence me going to let others know.

Chuffed so far, just bought a major m588 in almost mint condition with original Mic and box in good Nik too.
Havnt had the lid off to look inside yet as I'm bushed but I noted it has a small switch on rear so likely some mod done.hopefully all's good.

Bought an untested Uniden 100, 2 Cheiza mic's and a Murphy mobile (all somewhat dusty!) for the princely sum of £12 posted on a BIN. Had to be worth a go for that as there's bugger-all decent going on ebay at the moment for me

Same as the Select's aerial I believe, but for that price, I'd want the rest of the Midland too :mrpsychopath wrote: ↑05 Oct 2020, 08:06 Bought last week, a ham international select, serviced by Saint Nick. Nice little radio. Just need to find an antenna for it to use it as a portable.

My first sidebander turned up today !
In keeping with my Midland .001 addiction it’s a tidy 7001. Complete with slide mount, original uncut wiring and a midland mic.
Well chuffed ....
Now to find someone to talk to !

How much did you fork out for that if you don't mind me asking? They can fetch a pretty penny on ebay.

Re: What CB/11m Radio Stuff did you buy today? (2020)
I’m not sure if I paid over the odds or not to be honest...
A bit over £200..
Located in France.
No box but very good condition. No scratches, original mount, original wiring still with warning label saying not to key up without an antenna etc , and an original mic.
Everything seems to work .. including the AWI light ! (As I discovered when I forgot to raise my antenna !!)

There's a rubber duck aerial with this portapak, but you know the price will go up towards the end. For better performance, the telescopic one will work better anyway :The Collector wrote: ↑13 Nov 2020, 20:42Same as the Select's aerial I believe, but for that price, I'd want the rest of the Midland too :mrpsychopath wrote: ↑05 Oct 2020, 08:06 Bought last week, a ham international select, serviced by Saint Nick.
