Can I Do Anything With This?
Hi, I just found an old Nokia DigiBox up the loft and have took it apart to get to the PCB. There is a lot of capacitors and transistors etc on the board and it seems a shame to chuck it out. I have attached some pictures so you can have a look. My question is, is there any projects I could do with these parts, radio related or something else? Cheers

You could strip the caps out but they would have very short legs.
perhaps any transformers and transistors etc.
Other than that - not a lot really.

Take the xtals out and bin the rest, No point spending ages desoldering components that you could buy new for a few quid,

Strip out the heatsinks, crystals and if there are components with long legs they may be worth recycling, perosnally I think it's probably only good as a door stop though.

The caps may not be good as they dry out or leak over time but you can have fun with them by chucking them into a bonfire lol Heat-sinks transistors and xtals transformers will be usful.

If there are any youngsters reading this, please don't be tempted to do this, apart from bits flying around to potentially blind you, they give of some noxious gases.StormShadow wrote:you can have fun with them by chucking them into a bonfire lol

Good point Admiral.
@Youngsters, you will be far better hooking your old electrolytics up to a bit of old mains flex and running 240 VAC through them... SchhhhhwwwweeeeeeeeeBANG! Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.
