Perhaps it doubles up as a taser :D

there is a pot inside you can turn for adjustable power output to lower it for foundation licence users (see pic - pot in the centre)..
i've ordered one and the programming cable.. might be pants, might be great, we'll see :)

Yep, or you can turn it the other way to set it to overload and leave it by a door while you hide behind a rock.

If you time it just right, it should glow red and explode just as the bad guys come piling through!

I'm sure there is a low power setting, if not, power is adjustable in the software.

You're going to have to chop the car radio supply or buy a separate power lead.

Clearly another firmware defined radio, a Bumfeng with a bigger PA. I spoke to a guy via a repeater who was using one, and it sounded bloody awful, not too sure if he had messed with the settings or if the deviation was factory set too high.

He reckoned that he paid £55 delivered for it. It could be a useful little box for an (X)OTA day, but otherwise, £55 wasted in my World.

Radiobanker is 409shop
Just purchased its bigger brother, the QYT KTUV980 and it's bloody awful.

Random power and micro resets. RX audio vanishes when you change frequency, power o/p drops from 10 Watts to less than 4 Watts after only a couple of minutes. Entire radio is red hot to the touch, it's deaf on VHF. In other words, "rubbish"
Need to send it back to them (409 shop)

I'd avoid these so called cheap transceivers. They are that price for a reason. Not saying they are all crap but!!

I've changed radios so many times, I've forgotten what I have

Yeah I wouldn't bother with these either, you get what you pay for. The Juentai JT-6188 will probably suffer the same memory problem as QYT KT8900 as it's basically the same radio with a different name. Also deaf.
