You have to wait until they give you your actual licence.

It usually takes a few days after passing the exam for your candidate number to become "live" on the Ofcom site. I believe the RSGB have recently introduced a minimum period of 6 days. Once you are able to log in and chose your callsign your licence then becomes available for you to print out and you can start operating right away.

you will be able to use your call sign as soon as it is approved, you will be prompted to input new letters if your chosen ones are in use,The ofcom web site will advise you as you go on the call sign page.

I think if you apply on the website, the activation is straight away. Once the callsign is issued, you can use it.

See above. 6 days is what the RSGB and OFCOM work to. If quicker then you are lucky.

That would have been the case under the old system, the RSGB department now do the 'official' marking and it is now 6 days before OFCOM will be told by the RSGB that you have passed. The delay is to allow appeals/complaints to be lodged.

As I said in your earlier thread, having just gone through this process it will seem the longest week... ;)

What criticism? He asked a question and has been told the answer. I took my foundation last month, no course just the practical assessments and exam. The new marking system only came in at the end of July and it is quite clear there is some confusion.. ;)

Were you re-activating an old pass / license? (I half remember you mentioning this in another thread...)

If you sit the exam as a brand new amateur now they do it all electronically, no post involved. :)

Once the pass is loaded onto the Ofcom system by (I presume) the RCF (read RSGB), you can simply apply online and then access your license through their site as a .pdf right away.
