Re: whatever came of ???
Sounds like in that ad it was aimed at taxi's etc [when taxis used CB] but as it also states was infact illegal to use which is probably why it never really took off.

Re: whatever came of ???
but what ever happened to it all ??
i've seen the CTVR handhelds which were 29mhz AM and still got a pair on 27mhz in the loft, but 46mhz ??
wonder if it ever took off, is there anything on there now ?
i was told there were only three 'CB trade' (part of CB Radio) magazines, but i have so far found seven, one being No 2 Issue 18, so there's a few out there..
CBET is another i didn't know of, and i need to find a few more Practical CB too..
a few people on here had collections so any swaps ?? i have many to swap..
i have all the Citizens band and all the Breaker magazines,
also 10-4 Action, a Comic ?? anyone ??

Re: whatever came of ???
I'm sure there was a pair of 46mhz rigs on ebay a year or so back. It was someone on here that bought them and posted about them.
Seem to remember they looked same as a Colt 210.
Was miffed I missed them because they went cheap, and I would of liked to experiment with getting one working on the 49Mhz band

Re: whatever came of ???
If its the Kaiser UK 27/81 handheld you're on about Mark then I've got a boxed one of those and I sold another unboxed one a few months back. They're the only 2 I've seen on eBay in 7 years of collecting. If its a mobile radio then I've never seen one.

Re: whatever came of ???
i had two of the blue colt based 46mhz rigs on two different bands, a few locals had them in the early/mid 80's, not seen one in years.

Re: whatever came of ???
that pic brings back some happy memories playing at making different antennas,
mine came with the matching phone patch unit, it had a complete bremi style powerpac inside which i robbed and used the patch unit case for another project.

Re: whatever came of ???
I think I remember those from on eBay. How much did they fetch as a matter of interest? Not something I'd collect personally but to some they'd be great.
