what type of license are you after?

if its a buisness type ( ie - so you can use hand held radios for whatever) then I'm sure you need to 16 but you would need to check with ofcom to be sure.

You could look at an amateur radio license.
I don't have one myself but they are generally used for talking to other people interested in radio.
Everyone transmitting has to have their own license.

Depends what you want to do, but if you want to start experimenting with all kinds of radios, the best thing to do is get an amateur radio licence.

There are 3 available, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced (full).
They have to be done in order (foundation first).
There WILL be an amateur radio club in your area running a course. The course is not mandatory, you can book a place on an exam and if you pass, you pass! But if you have no electronics/radio background then its best to do the course.

Google "Amateur radio (your town)" for your local club.

Licence is spelled "licence" and NOT license. I am English, and my forefathers WROTE this language. I don't need Microsoft or some plastic box telling ME how to spell in MY language.

Rant over.. for now.
