I'm afraid the Police/Ambulance/Fire are no longer in use as they have moved over to digital. However the Fire brigade do still use the on scene handhelds, although you have to be pretty close to hear them. Only heard them once myself and that was when they were going around knocking on peoples doors checking smoke alarms
