This old PSU is still going strong 10 years later. I've fitted a fuse box on top of it and it's running my radio and amp :)

Glad to see the thread is still getting attention :D

Good PSUs go on many years if you are lucky.

What I find interesting is that many PC motherboards die with the dreaded capacitor issues. Yet these capacitors, unlike those in a PSU, have a very low demand, low ripple current and stable operating voltage compared to those in a PSU. Yet more often that not the PSU outlasts the motherboard.

Oh yes, nice to see you testing on a wooden bench; :).

That's actually the floor :lol: PSU lives on the floor under the desk. Just hooked up the meter to check voltage was still good under load :D
