Cardiff area - 446.21875

i was at my parents house in ely, cardiff n with a clear view of the city centre thought i'd scan my intek 5050.. when it stoped at H8 - 446.21875 all i caught was C1 sumthing sumthing sumthing... didnt try talking back because im not sure if its legal for me to use that channel... so anyone know what or who that could be?

Hi Dan

I can confirm that unless you were operating with full permission of the Licensee,
you should not be transmitting, or indeed receiving the the letter of the law on that frequency.

In the UK, the highest licence free channel for analogue radios is officially channel 8 (446.09375).

The channels within 446.1 to 446.2 are (again "officially") digital only and several
of the 12.5KHz channels (not the 6.25 KHz offset ones) within that band are licensed e.g. to B & Q in Newport [source: Ofcom WTR]
