Right, got my new rig.
I brought a Magnum 257 (blue face) all unlocked and ready to go.
I've got a mini stinger on a guttermount at the moment (from my old rig) and don't expect to get much from it.
As I'm on a tight budget I've been looking at the Solarcon 3LT-48B which, if the blurb is to be believed, seems ideal.
What do others think?
Thanks.

For mobile use, I'd look at the Sirio 3000 / 4000 range. They aren't cheap, especially as you'll need the sirio mag mount to go with.... but I can't imagine how much money I've thrown down the drain buying 'cheap' alternatives over the years. The only other aerial that comes anywhere near the sirio series but is cheaper - is the Modulator / Red Devil type ones. There at least you could get away with a 3/8" mounting.

Cheers Bob, I've just brought a sirio 3000 with sirio mag mount.
Should be here Monday so I'll be set from then.

Excellent choice. That's what I use. The Sirio mag is superb, and waaay stronger than mags supplied elsewhere.
You'll be well happy with that set up.

Korea ain't known for its high quality radio's,especially the maxon made ones.the blue display looks seriously fagged out. ,seriously though i've heard the newer blue ones have frequency stability and other issues compared to the older radio's.porky.69 wrote:hi guys whats the difference between the yellow display radio and the blue one ...and what the big deal in where its made ( korea ) just heard alot of guys talking about them ???

Paul i think you made a wise choice in choosing the sirio hp3000 over the solarcon, solarcon ain't exactly well known for accuracy/honesty in their advertising if the 9.9 dbi A99 was anything to go by.
