M3 / M6 Foundation Licence conditions?

Post by RogerD »

While intrigued that M3/6 folk can't use 23cm, I've been googling but it's ridiculously hard to find the actual current terms and conditions.

The BR68/F document is out of date, not updated since the conditions were changed (i.e. 10m allowed).

Is there a definitive official version anywhere online?!!

Yes.

here: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/ ... /br68f.htm

and the update here: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/ ... notice.doc

I have to get that translated into Bulgarian to apply for a reciprocal licence! (LZ/MM6YET)
Will the next movie in the series be The Fast and The Funeral?

Still doesn't mention 10m though.
The NOV is from 2003, and 10m was added to the FL schedule in 2006 if I remember correctly?

Not sure you can get a reciprocal license for the FL, and if it was you would be LZ/M6YET :)

LOL - the Bulgarian Federation of Radio Amateurs say I can apply. Remember the wording of the exam "the Foundation Licence is not routinedly recognised outside of the UK." Doesn't say they won't accept it. The BFRA guy I emailed reckon it's possible they'll allow it.

So for being LZ/M6YET, who cares - if I can go on the air while I'm over there, so much the better :P

Good point. Best I can say is it's in the Foundation Licence Now book then.

If you get a reciprocal licence it will be just LZ---- you will not have the a ZL/M6YET
ZL/M6YET is when you are operateing under CEPT T/R 61-01

yeah - there was confusion at first because the Bulgarian licence isn't actually a CEPT licence either - at first, the BFRA thought I could just operate using the LZ/ prefix - but now I have to get the BR68 and my licence translated and apply for the licence.

I'm gonna try it anyway!

The fun part is that FL holders can use the 10Ghz band... if you can afford the commercially made TXR ;-)

This is the doc you download from Ofcom along with your licence. First 3 pages are your licence and in another PDF :)

Page 17 has the frequency schedule for foundation and says 28 to 29.7 mhz

Hope that helps!
