Well I am pleased its not just me becoming a whinging old man about it! haha.

I just don;t see the attraction. Occasionally you get some US stations making it on onto Hi band working DX in(what I'd consider) a normal way, but the Superbowl and 385 are just head scracthers to me!

Each to their own , some might not enjoy operating the way you consider " normal " what is normal on cb radio and we mustn't forget its cb radio not ham , i dx and i am a 5/9 bye op and some might not consider that normal but its the way i do it or give a report and my radio antenna thats it , if that's the way they enjoy it its up to them , cb is a dying hobby in a few years we will be looking for them to talk to or have moved on to knitting lol

Q codes and to a lesser extent, 10 codes are internationally recognised, so its simple for anyone to use them and learn, that's why we use them as the standard, and it's even easy for non-native English speakers to use this format. Also you can still easily have a longer conversation with someone on 11m, just miss out all the "rubber ducky" slang, because it's indecipherable.

Also regarding 27.025, it's not very fair to QRP stations, if everyone keys over each other at once, it's just bad practise.

Again its cb radio what do you expect smoking jacket pipe and slipers talking to the ol boys , if thats what gets them their kicks let them get on with it , plenty of other chs to rx you dont need to listen to them. big 10/4 10/10 me gone good buddy bub bub bub bye lol

It is no different from the dimwits who sit on t5 with their amps on talking to their mates a few streets away about pile cream and what kebab they had last night , it did bother me but now i dont listen to them as ones in my area know they are grown men trying to get their youth back lol

Just had a listen on my evening walk. Even with their power usage I find it mad that I'm getting S5 while people only 15 miles away only give me S3.
