One thing I've observed about social media is something I saw on CB way back when - vitriolic abuse and even physical threats. I think it's easier for a person to do when the other person is not stood in front of them.

No idea about CB (but I suspect it's not official) but inmates are allowed to make phone calls and send and receive emails - using a proper prison system, which I guess is monitored.

I watched a prison documentary where they have laptops in the cells... who is to say that they can't hack a wifi network and use unmonitored internet? I also heard that some of the prison staff bring stuff in for them they shouldn't.
ThIs country is finished and its clear we are at end of days now living in crazy times. Nothing surprises me anymore.

If they were using CB and PMR at least that could be monitored.

I heard 446 being used as a kind of in-house CB by a mother and her daughter. It was very touching and funny, the banter between them.
