Hi,
I have purchased a few ex service Entel HT780 radios off Ebay I was hoping I could use for ham radio contacts, it appears that every single one of them works however I can not get hold of the programming software, I have contacted Entel UK by phone and email to ask and they stated both times that they will only provide the software to their official vendors. Considering the radios are 10 + years old this seems completely OTT.
I paid peanuts for the radios but to throw them out because they can not be reprogrammed from their current fire service frequencies is crazy!
What a wasteful world we live in.
If anybody has the software for the 700 series, specifically the HT780, I would be most greatful.
Thanks
Josh

Re: Entel HT780 Software
Thanks Mototrbo, I paid just over £1 per handheld for six HT's which is nothing. The only let down is Entel themselves who fail to provide the programming software for a 10 year old + radio, It's hardly going to destroy their sales and bankrupt them.Mototrbo2020 wrote: ↑06 Jun 2024, 18:35 I looked that them myself ex Staffordshire ones but looked into the software with no joy I decided to give them a miss. All radios are programmed with the standard Fire Service UHF Ground frequencies, except for one which is programmed for Standard UK PMR 446 oddly with different CTCSS Tones even though it is stamped SFRS for the Staffordshire Fire Service (Someone has tinkered with it at some point since its decommision)
I live in hope that I may get hold of the software

Re: Entel HT780 Software
Thanks for that, but unfortunately not. That appears to be just a software updater and doesn't do full programing. In fact the HT780 isnt included in that program... I did actually download it and take a look.billzebub2000 wrote: ↑10 Jun 2024, 17:37 I think that this page may have what you are looking for.

Entel are just being AN*L in not providing the program for a radio which is 20 years old, they informed me they no longer do this as they've promised their dealers that they will have the rights only to the programming software. Previously they did provide it to anybody on request according to many online posts for various different HT's.
Someone out there must have it but the chances of them seeing this forum and feeling compelled to share are remote.
Thanks again.

Hello
You could try this, for a change:

On the other hand, I'm wondering if you or someone else managed to get his hand on the programming connector (or manufacturing one).
Cheers!

Re: Entel HT780 Software
Apologies only just seen this, no luck in finding a cable I've searched High and low online and rang a few dealers who said they may have old cables laying around but then confirmed they didn't a few days later.
I did try messing around with the pin out on one of the icom cables that people suggested online (cant remember the model number of cable off the top of my head) but to no avail.
