Call me thick but if someone using UK Simple 458.800 DMR what talkgroup would they generally use?? I always thought it was CTCSS or DCS only

Some people would take a simple route and use TG1 slot 1 - but depending on the user it could be anything they like with or without encyption. I doubt anybody would be that bothered - it's digital so hardly worth the effort. Scanner folk would probably just check it on DSD or similar and see what it is that way?

Thanks Paul for your reply. I’m on a MD390 and it’s a local retail park that’s using it as a shopwatch. Iv tried all Colour codes and the usual TG groups but nothing it’s definitely on there as I’m receiving full signal from it.

Without a dedicated promiscuous mode they could just have used a random number for a talk group, but there could be thousands to try!

Any Tg or Cc can be used. You would be best using an SDR stick to find out the TG or a radio that ignores the TG & CC.

Iv got promiscuous mode on my MD390 but doesn’t seem to be bringing it up. Shows a full signal and that’s about it.
