Picked up a nice UK board for the Lafayette AFS-1005, one that actually fits
Fits nicely
And works well, nice and easy to install too. I've put it on the 'E' band and changed the 20.555 xtal for another 20.330 and tuned it down a bit so the channels are the same as a Nato 2000 now, which suits me. Double high isn't much use normally and I can still get SSB using the VXO (just a pity there's no centre notch). I really like these radios and this makes it a lot more usable.
Happy days.

The perfect face for radio.

Not today, but last week this very tidy President Richard arrived from France. I have been trying to get a tidy one that didn't cost a fortune for a while now, but they are pretty rare.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

They tend to have less dodgy modifications, but I have certainly seen a few in beaten up condition.

Lovely example, more unusual in that its the variant with the S Meter socket on the back. No idea what the thinking is, some do and some don't.Mudslinger wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 21:56 Not today, but last week this very tidy President Richard arrived from France. Another gem found on the french bay at a good price and all intact no mods at all 100% working mint, gave it a clean and some switch cleaner in the usual suspects etc and one mod denotched the KC shift......I may put the bleep on a switch undecided.

That looks nice, was it the one with the scratches on the underside of the bezel?
