New Members Questions.

Post by Dr Barrie »

Hello everyone
After some 45 years l am once again venturing into the realms of CB radio
and was wondering if there is 'any life' in this area to warrant the expense
of buying new equipment. I would be interested in any feedback from
you as to the areas to cover would be the South Downs area up as far as
maybe London?
Your comments would be very much appreciated !

Hi and welcome.
I'm not down south but it does seem quite busy down there from what I've heard and read.
There are southern nets on CB/sideband and PMR .
Fred in the sheds videos would be a good place to start watching to make your mind up .

If you do decide to take the plunge. Any advice you want, post it up and you'll get some decent in what to buy etc.

Ps.
Don't worry about the expense, you can always sell it on if you decide it's not for you.

I've spent loads since I came back on air 😁

I was going to say that you could get used equipment from a shop and therefore if you needed to sell it you would get most of your money back .
Down south in Torquay Devon TQ13AE there's a market stall that sells cb's or www.kcb.co.uk which I have bought used radio's from myself.

Setting up a mobile set would be a lot cheaper than homebase and finding a high spot to park on would be a good advantage for you.
