Its probably moved to DMR. Most rail communications in the UK have moved to DMR there still may be some analog transmissions about such as the one you heard. I believe all UK rail analog transmissions will go to DMR very soon. The Pea Launcher wrote: ↑08 Sep 2019, 14:52 This analogue frequency seems to have disappeared/moved has anybody got any information?

Re: 440.375 piccadilly rail
Can you tell me if station staff (cleaners) are still 453.6125, Northern staff 453.225, Avanti 453.300 or 462.300. On a good day I can hear Manchester Piccadilly from St Helens, its weak but still readable.

The platform staff could still be heard on 453.550 not long ago. I could hear them from Warrington. It was barely readable but platform numbers and train headcodes gave away which station it was. Avanti are usually DMR but not encrypted on various frequencies and colour codes. Talk groups and slots all the same but various frequencies. I'll try and get to Manchester in the next couple of weeks or so.

Re: 440.375 piccadilly rail
I posted this be mistake, I was replying to the post below, it won' t let me delete it.
can just hear that and no more from Runcorn if the wind is blowing in the right direction
There could be multiple frequencies in use. I currently have 5 for Liverpool Lime Street, that's not including the low level Merseyrail trains. I've seen handhelds but never caught what they use or seen a radio being used.
Network Rail have two, both on DMR, one is for passenger / mobility assist.
Avanti has one, as do Northern, plus a control. All in there are DMR.
In a list I have which are all nfm are 440.4375, 453.550, 453.6125, 453.225, 453.300 and 462.300. I have had them a while but I haven't been in Manchester for a while. Oxford Road someone gave me as 447.5375. The last time I was in Manchester was during the pandemic, things were rather quite with the radio.
