Hello:
I have a Yaesu FT-897D and may possibly be purchasing a UK Ranger 811H amp but I am confused on the interface method.
The FT-897D has the RF output port plus an ALC and 8=pin output meant to amps. The UK Ranger 811H has coax in and out ports (UHF) as well as PTT and ALC ports. The amp has no 8-pin connection.
Curious if anyone can tell me how the radio and amp are supposed to interface? Is it as simple as the coax connections and the single ALC connection b/w the radio and amp? The ALC connection triggers the amp's x-mit mode that is all that is needed?
Thanks.
