2SC2078 RF TRANSISTOR

Post by Raverrst »

I’m after as above a 2SC2078 RF transistor.. I ordered 5 Chinese ones from eBay, was not surprised to find them junk! 1 watt was the maximum output after a peak up of the Tx strip. I then ordered 1 from a Nikko a U.K. company (anyone used them??) and that one was worse! 1/2 watt max after a tune.. Is they anywhere or anyone selling usable 2sc2078 ??

There's a lot of equivalents you could use, 2SC1909, 2SC1306, 2SC2166, 2SC2075, 2SC1974, 2SC1307 even, it doesn't have to be exact just as long as it's the right type.

Ahh interesting, however is it the same problem with all of them that trying to get a good gain item that’ll produce anything like 4watts is a challenge?

Haven't you got any knocking about from old radios? I could find several in scrap rigs.
