Ahoy Shipmates!
Sending all you fine pirates a massive thank you for making last night's net a great success.
Over 50 stations logged and many pass arounds in the two hectic hours we were on the air.
Stations were logged from as far as Berkshire and Brighton in the south to Newcastle in the north.
Special thanks as always to our standing stations around the country and the usual Freeband crew who make the net possible.
We will be starting our weekend net this coming Sunday around 14:00 hours on the usual 27.515 USB.
73s and good DX to you all till the next time.
Catch you again soon Me Hearties!

I always thought a net on free band was not a very well considered idea.. enjoy it whilst it lasts cause once
DX comes back this net with both be an annoyance to DXers who QSY there and will be wiped out by +9dB and
more of skip.

It would not surprise me in the least if OFCOM track down the chair and offer a few words of wisdom.
They usually don't bother but this is just easy picking, low hanging fruit.

The organizer/s would do well to move it to MID block, speedy quick time.
I worked the world at the 11 year cycle low on a snapped PL-259 center pin and 0.01W so neh neh ne ne neh

Well when the prop rolls in, they'll just have to deal with it or even better, bring DX contacts into the net

As for OFCOM tracking anyone down for 11m freebanding, its just not going to happen unless someone is causing interference elsewhere on the spectrum, which is extremely unlikely with modern Export or HF radios. OFCOM can't even keep their licensed amateurs in check, how many M3 stations are using 100w? If they were going to go after anyone it would be the high-power 446 stations which have sprung up everywhere, but no, they're not interested because they lack manpower and/or the will to do it.

Each to their own, they aren't doing any harm and the new is now well-established so I don't see that changing any time soon.

Just pointing out some very obvious forthcoming problems, for DX stations in the UK, internationally and the net itself,
come what may.

Yeah but then the other 80% of the time when there is no prop then there is no problem. If the freq is in use then it is in use, I dont think any dxers are really going to care if one freq is in use with a net

Moving them to mid band would make no difference, they’d still be occupying a frequency and still be subject to the prop conditions.

I don't really think there’s a problem here, with respect. At leasr they’re trying to keep up interest in the hobby, freeband or otherwise.
