Re: Brexit and CB sales/purchases
I was royally screwed over in charges when I bought some modules from Gerhard Maurer in Austria. By the time I'd factored in the increased cost of the parts, plus postage and charges, it cost almost as much as the FR360, they were destined for.
I've completely stopped buying anything from mainland europe now.

Yeah. The postage post Brexit thing is a real shame. I bought a £35 , plus £10 postage , item from the UK a few weeks ago. Got hit with a 16€ Spanish customs bill. I've still got my UK eBay account. From now on I'll just use that to buy stuff , and get it sent to my mate's house in Paisley, and then collect them the next time I'm over.

No , but I did go to Renfrew from time to time . CB'ers used to meet at the pub next to the ferry , and I used to go there sometimes .

Off-topic - I went to visit canonteign falls last weekend, but just as we got there I realised that the best time to visit them was probably not in the middle of a drought. The Collector wrote: ↑19 Aug 2022, 22:15
As it happened, my wife wanted to visit a waterfall on the way, ....

Well my wife navigated and we ended up getting a bit lost that day, so we didn't bother in the end. She thought we could go the way back as I had to pick some radios up from Nick, but she then decided she couldn't be arsed lol. My back had gone whilst we were away, so there was no way I was going to be walking far anyway.

Same in Ireland, the bas***** charge a 5 Euro handling fee, even if no duty or vat is due,cb4ever104 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2022, 08:02 Hi All .
Just thought I'd post on this . The UK used to be my main Ebay sales destination . Since Brexit that's more or less disappeared . The import taxes just don't make it worth the while now for UK buyers . I've almost stopped buying stuff myself now from the UK . Apart from Brexit , the Spanish Post Office made some customs changes here last year . There used to be a customs waver for non EU items up to €22 . That's now been scrapped . So , even if I buy a €1 item from China , there's a good chance that I'll get hit for a €6 customs bill when it arrives .
I presume you guys in the UK have stopped buying stuff from the EU ?
S.
so a 5 euro item costs 10 euro at the very least.

Re: Brexit and CB sales/purchases
Stopped selling to Northern Ireland, couriers want all sorts of paperwork since brexit so need to send via post office counter which costs more meaning taking a hit on postage costs, not worth the hassle. Still sell to EU / USA but using Ebay GSP which is a ripoff but at least the buyer knows the cost up front.
Same as other posters, buying stuff from EU, no point. Buying from USA is even bigger no which is a shame as Barkett's has some nice items I could do with.
The days of getting a bargain rig from France are long gone....
