The SS3900 sticker will be coming off. These versions have been commented on before on the forum. I'll post some photos once it's been given a good clean.
It'll be a Superstar 148 GTL. Good radio for sure.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

I have one of these badged up as a Sadelta Nevada Coppa (no echo board fitted as standard though). Made in Taiwan. The only real difference of note are the four top switches. Whereas the 8001 has the wide flat plastic switches the Sadelta has round metal ones (same as Cobra's/Superstar's etc). I do recall some of the 8001's having the round switches though.

From what I have seen I don't think it will simply plug in

Bought a job-lot of CB stuff including a bracket for my Cobra 148 GTL-DX Mk3, a mic, components, matcher and loads more for £25.

Also, I very recently bought an "untested", for spares SSB radio for £25 too. It has no branding and someone has done rub-off lettering on it (but not lacquered over it) in the past. It's the same as the Lafayette/Intek 1200FM or Cobra 150gtl and it all seems to work, so maybe a liitle project

Thanks mate, made it myself using Microsoft Word (even though I'm crap with computers!) and normal A4 paper lol. I had to have a couple of goes as when I printed the first attempt, the cheaper paper I used first made the printer ink "bleed" a bit and it also printed a few millimetres bigger than I needed.

I've still got another meter backing on an A4 sheet as back up just in case I buggered this one up whilst fitting it, plus somewhere on a CD is the Word document I saved.

I did the meter backing n orange to match the orange LED display I fitted (yes, I fitted it myself, no fainting) and the gold plating and lettering ;)

A professional gold-plating machine, about £1000's worth when new,. I paid about £80 for it from memory.
