Yaseu FT767 Modules and fitting nightmare!!

After waiting ages to source the 3 modules for my FT 767 and pulling the covers off, I was greeted with half a remote control with batteries (assuming the battery has failed at some point) and wires across where the 70cm module should go in. The battery thing I can deal with as I will look to use a smaller holder for a button cell, but the wires across the back surely shoudn't be in that location? Has anybody else come across this issue before I start delving and opening the radio up? I acquired the radio a couple of years back and it has been flawless in performance so you can imagine my shock when removing the back covers! Please see the images. I have the same radio and thankfully for me it was already fitted with the modules.
