digital scanning

Post by verstappen »

hello. i am looking to listen to airport stuff that is digital, baggage, security etc. i have a dmr radio and understand if i can "sniff out" the frequencies i can then listen on the dmr. i understand i would need to do this with an sdr dongle. am i correct in what i am saying?, could someone maybe go into detail a bit better as i am not 100% sure about the whole process. i have an sdr dongle here but i havent done much with it. Thanks

Hello welcome to the forum. It would be helpful to know which airport you're interested in as many of them now use encrypted DMR radios, which will make any SDR/DSD+ combination, or scanner, or DMR transceiver ineffective.

Hello. It’s Glasgow airport. I would be interested in listening to stuff even outside of the airport. There’s DMR frequencies for a whole bunch of things

Have a look at this video to get you started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbksL2w ... rugalRadio

You can get DSD+ from here: https://www.dsdplus.com/download-2/

Once you are up and running try looking for DMR signals in the 440-457MHz range
