Candidate yes. Winner?

Sadly not. I happen to own THAT Cobra 148 GTL-DX. It's a new old stock radio that's had no more than 15-20 minutes use ever. Everything is like brand spanking new, even the box. All original accessories still sealed in bags. Manual and additional paperwork crisp and new. The bracket has never been removed from the radio. It's exactly as it was packed in around 1980/1981.

A few pictures.
That is the best looking 148 I have ever seen and we all had them back in the '80s and they didn't look that good then!!

It's kept in it's original box which is in turn kept inside a bespoke outer box. This protects both the radio and the Cobra box as the orange colour fades if there's too much contact with sunlight.

I've yet to see another one like it. Many people on Facebook groups claim to have one or more in the same condition as mine, but they're never able to post any photo's. Make of that what you will.

This specific Cobra is not, and never will be for sale. I know I'd regret it if I ever did.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

I have PC-879AA serial number 03000781, so I guess at least 781 of them.

That doesn't tell you how many mk1 PC-879AA models were made before they switched to the PC-879AB Claude . That document tells you the number of early and late models made .

Salut

I'm a bit peeved that Dynascan never got back to me regarding my request for info on my Cybernet-boarded GTL-DX.
They probably thought "Oh, those things, we don't want to talk about those!..." ;)
