Anyone know if network private hire and other taxi companies still operate radios in glasgow

Not sure about Glasgow, but the WTR still shows lots of frequencies. However, here many of our local taxis still have frequencies but use them hardly at all. Two of ours use their iPad/phone system almost entirely, with many cabs not even having radios and one other is using ip radios with n60 radios, and can do the airport runs still in touch with the office.

A lot have migrated to Pda with only a few on actual voice.
Glasgow black cabs mainly had a data system with a couple of voice channels around 440 MHz with mobiles around 426mhz but only used when drivers needed to speak to control and not for actual job dispatch etc.
but not sure if still in use.
Most are using vhf 165-168mhz but a handful used uhf as mentioned above.

I’ll give it a scan tommorow morning . My dmr baofeng can decode colour codes and time slots using monitor mode so for 60£ it’s as good as the anytone 868 at scanning dmr
