Cheap replacement is a 2SC1307. Gives a bit less SSB PEP but 4/12w should be fine.

No Claude, the 2078 is a 4w type. Not good for SSB radios as a final as well. I often had radios which had a 2078 which replaced a blown 2166. It never worked good. The 1306 and 1307 were replaced with 2166 and 2312/1969. But sometime there are original NOS 1307 available. I often found them on ebay.
