We simply used CC1, TG1 and Slot 1 across all 16 channels. Works perfect and should be easy enough for anyone to program on various models. If you're wanting to make random contacts like on analogue 446 then that's probably the best way to do it!
We have tried using DMR on PMR446 using Baofeng-DM1801 and Anytone radios on our evening net, it works very well in high noise environment, even if you are a weak signal the voice is still clear, if we could adopt using talkgroup 1, colour code 1, timeslot 1 as the standard it would help promote it even more.
I could be heard on around 1 watt over 5 miles away whilst on analog my voice was too staticy to be readable.
Also we have been staying away from channel 8 instead using channel 10 as channel 8 is the analog calling channel to avoid interference.
