CRE-8900 programming

Post by Mudslinger »

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been asked before but here goes.

I have an CRE-8900 on it's way to me and it isn't programmed. My brother has a CRT 6900N with programming cable.

Is it possible to use the 6900N cable to program the CRE-8900?

Obviously it has a different connector, but I seem to remember someone saying that it was possible to remove the cover on the CRE and connect it inside?

Many Thanks

Thanks Claude, I was aware of the socket, my question was can the other cable be connected inside to save me buying a specific cable.

I am pretty sure that it can.

You can use any rs232-ttl converter.
I use old Nokia ca42 cable :)

Hello

Yes follow the black cable which goes from the rear socket connected to the board

Just to update on this. Inside the CRE-8900 the programming connector is a 4 pin. The one on the 6900N programming cable is a 3 pin.

So in this instance I cannot use the 6900N cable to program the CRE-8900
