FM Dxing

Post by fmdx »

Recently been receiving alot of IRISH and WELSH radio broadcast stations from the North of Glasgow using nothing but the car radio.

Due to recent high air pressure.

BBC Radio Wales on 91.1 coming in at 5 and 9 with slight hiss/crackle at times which is over 300miles.

That's good DX, wideband FM is definitely possible. A year or so ago I heard a French FM station coming in somewhere around 90ish, I was in the car at about 5:00AM and I had a decent takeoff though. It lasted a good half an hour, and they were playing a better selection of music than the same 3 tracks all the UK stations were playing.
