List of UK Legal SSB radios
Afternoon all. Here's a ponderer for you...
...I have looked about the internet for this but struggled to find a definitive answer. Is there a (current) list of UK-Legal SSB radios available?
I am in the market for some new radios so would ideally like one which is 100% certified as legal for UK CB.
Thanks in advance :-)

It's probably not stable enough on frequency.lambrettadave wrote: ↑26 Nov 2020, 16:09 Isn't the latest ss3900 in 40 channel version classed as legal too.

Re: List of UK Legal SSB radios
well here is the biggest question. what makes a radio legal in the UK. Do they need a specific rubber stamp on them? Someone on Facebook mentioned the latest MPT code but I cant for the life of me find it now, which is exactly why a forum is better for knowledge retention instead of FB!

Re: List of UK Legal SSB radios
I think the manufacturer has to declare them as legal, but there is no type approval. e.g If President design a radio to meet the specifications and sell it as a compliant radio - OK. Maybe the CE stamp is supposed to indicate compliance?

Re: List of UK Legal SSB radios
I wonder how many people buy a "Legal" radio and then attach a nice linear to it?

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

Re: List of UK Legal SSB radios
Don't forget about expanding it to get 555. They really should legalise 27.415 to 27.590 in 5kc steps. With the way the skip comes in it can't really be used for anything else.Mudslinger wrote: ↑27 Nov 2020, 22:27 I wonder how many people buy a "Legal" radio and then attach a nice linear to it?
