The Black JACKSON
Didn't realize that the black Jackson was also made in Taiwan . Thought they were all made in the Philippines.

Re: The Black JACKSON
I think all the Jacksons used variantes of the PB-042 pcb (AC/AE etc) , except maybe for the later 6 band "Classic" version which was made in the PRC . If I'm wrong , then I'm sure someone on here will correct me

Re: The Black JACKSON
Not just the "Classic" then , as that has a silver front . It's all the later PRC ones then .

Re: The Black JACKSON
Looks like a nice radio.
I am not a fan of the chinese ones, especially the one with ASC and 322AA board

Re: The Black JACKSON
The six band ASC version isn't the best. The potentiometers are poor quality for starters. And they STILL hadn't sorted out the AGC problem.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!
Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

Re: The Black JACKSON
My grey front Jackson has a PB-042AB board, the other grey one had a PB-042AC board. Both made in Taiwan. My later Philippines Jacksons have AC and AE board with better quality components, so that I often can say the radio made in the Philippines are the better models. Nearly all President radios I have or had, made in the Philippines are better.
They used Rubicon caps with higher voltage ratings and most of all issues of the first series were fixed.
