Yeah, saw that mate and it's a beaut too. Got one already though otherwise it'd be worth a punt. There are only a few radios that I'm after now.
I'm just about to advertise an Antenna Specialists AS MR-276 car aerial, mag-mount and hatch-mount (all new), the one off the Pontiac Firebird in Smokey and The Bandit and a couple of other new bits. I wonder what they'll go for in this mad climate? Probably £2 knowing my luck. I might put them on at a ridiculous price so I get myself mentioned on the silly ebay sellers list too

Love that list. Get on the facey debates too. From the moronic ones like who can’t see it’s clearly a **** takeThe Collector wrote: ↑06 Jun 2020, 10:39 Yeah, saw that mate and it's a beaut too. Got one already though otherwise it'd be worth a punt. There are only a few radios that I'm after now.

I was just having a flick around, as you do, when I noticed your Black Shadow...and the fact that it may be one that I did an early relettering job on in the mid' 80's!Werthers wrote: ↑16 Oct 2019, 11:59 I bought myself a Colt 320 DX Black Shadow FM/LSB/USB/AM said to be fully working but I've not yet tested it.
I also got a Major M 360 AM/FM/SSB which looks like it may work too.
I paid about 20 quid for both, no microphones or cables or mounting brackets but I'll dig through my box of mics I'm bound to have a CB mic that I can use right away without having to reconfigure it. I've got a power cable that fits both radios, I just need to look for some patch leads and I've got my dummy load and power meter at hand for testing these radios.
I'm planning on doing a bit of AM/SSB CB at some point I've just got to build my antenna.
I can't be 100% as I've done so many I've forgotten over the years, but it looks mighty familiar and the only thing putting me off that it's not my work is the fact that I may have put the radio name and model numbers a bit closer together than that as a rule...they look spaced out a bit too far for my liking (I'm older and even more fussier nowadays). Nevertheless, it's brought back a few more memories

Think I saw that one Ralf , but it looked pretty scary to me , so I didn't bother bidding on it
Saying that , I did buy this guy .
It has a couple of minor issues , but I'm sure I'll get it back to normal

I've seen a few of those Cobras on ebay lately with people seemingly reselling them immediately when they had it delivered and then realised it wasnt the EU (and therefore no UKFM) version.

I must be one of the lucky ones then, or they don't know how to switch modes on them, which to be fair it did take me a minute to figure out as it is a strange way to change modes. The Collector wrote: ↑18 Jun 2020, 15:58I've seen a few of those Cobras on ebay lately with people seemingly reselling them immediately when they had it delivered and then realised it wasnt the EU (and therefore no UKFM) version.
Radio seems to receive well, even picked up some German skip on FM which I recorded as was dead impressed. Tried calling out on ch 19 UK as heard a couple people but no one replied so not sure if its txing but will try another time and different location when weather gets better.

There are some almost identical looks-wise but without the important "EU" on the end. I think they're probably purely US/AM mid-block models
