In my garage I've got a very dusty Sigma IV that I want to sell but I'm not actually sure what version it is. I know it's one of the original types or copies as it's got the three vertical basket elements and originally it had the SO239 panel socket but the hoop spacers aren't as the AS AV-174 manual. The manual shows horizontally placed spreaders with the elements feeding through the spacers, mine has vertically aligned spacers with metal ring clamps holding the basket elements. the bracket on the main radiator looks the same as the lower one. I'll attach a photo to show what I mean, any ideas which one this is?

That's the early sigma4 with none original looking spreaders, or maybe its just the photo,
original had grey/greenish looking fiberglass spreaders with stainless clips with rubber inserts around the radials & the same triwing brackets as used at the base of the antenna,
later versions possibly after Antenna Specialists acquired Avanti had the same style spreaders as a vector 4000 but only 3 & made from tougher plastic with soft inserts in the end around the radials.

Two of the spreaders are the original grey/green but the right hand one in the photo is a replacement. I'm pretty sure the ring clamps round the hoop elements are home made replacements although if the originals were stainless I'm not sure why they were needed, thanks for the info WA10.
I've owned this since the mid 80s and it came to me after it snapped at the base during a gale so it's been repaired and modified. The base section under the bottom bracket is splinted and the original SO239 has been replaced with a 3/8 mobile mount SO239 with a milled and tapped section connecting it to the gamma match. The hoop has been rejoined because it took a lot of the landing force when it hit the roof and it's the one part I've never taken apart to clean.
I haven't thought as far as a price, it's one of those things that has a lot of sentimental value to me but probably isn't worth a great deal given it'll be collection from here only and isn't in original condition so not worth much to a collector If I had room to put it up I would but I know that's not going to happen so I'd rather someone made use of it for what it's intended.
One of the last times I used it, an Easter Sunday TM day out about 10 years ago.

I always said that if we moved somewhere where I could hoik one up (and where the neighbours wouldn't complain), that I'd love to try one out. I'd been informed that the Tagra one's even better built, but they're like hen's teeth. The Ham Int. Big Mac was always going to be too fragile, even if I could find one (yeah, good luck with that!).
Collection would certainly be best with that thing as you can then leave the basket intact. I'm not sure where you are Mr Grafter, but I doubt very much that you're in the Birmingham to Bristol M5 corridor area that I frequent now and again whilst visiting relatives?
